The House passed another 155 billion dollar “jobs” bill yesterday and the President signed a 1.1 trillion dollar spending bill yesterday. The health care bill simmers in the Senate, and Cap & Trade will be revisited early in 2010. Are we out of money yet?

“The Freedom of Information Act should be administered with a clear presumption: In the face of doubt, openness prevails,” Obama told government offices on his first full day as president. “The government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears.” Has the president broken this promise? Why are locks being changed so that Republicans can’t join in on meetings? Why are secret votes being taken over the weekends? What are your thoughts about our president’s promise of transparency and openness?

Recently hacked e-mails by scientists who were trying to cover up the true information about climate change are making people everywhere question the field of science and it’s validity. Science has always been above the fray of politics, or at least everyone thought it was, but now we question all the facts that they present, and unfortunately, we probably always will now. In light of the politics behind scientific funding processes, what do you think this means to our future? Can we believe the scientists now if they tell us the sky is falling? What are your thoughts about Climate-Gate?
